A limited number of Technology Kits will now be available for students to borrow for a two-week loan period as part of our Parents Reaching Out grant 2018-19. Families will be able to choose from a Sphero Spark + kit or an Ozobot Bit Starter Kit.
The Sphero Spark is an app-enabled robot ball which helps to foster creativity through discovery and play, while introducing the concept of computer coding, as well as using math and science. Students will be able to code the robot to perform certain tasks, as well as explore the app and the robot’s features. The kit will also include maze tape, and a charging base and cord.
The Ozobot Bit is a small light up robot that follows colour coding patterns. Students learn basic coding skills to control what actions the robot makes using markers and colour coded activity cards included in the kit.
Both kits will include a link provided with everything needed to get started. Just choose your robot and get started!
A sign-up sheet will be sent home with the youngest student in the family. You will be able to select the kit that you want to borrow and return to the school. Kits are limited and will be loaned out as they become available. Lost or damaged kits will be the responsibility of the borrower. Watch for your form to come home soon!
