Good morning Celtics,
Autumn was most definitely here this week! With fall arriving we will be able to enjoy the fresh outdoor breeze and all the bright colours that will begin to surround us in our beautiful St. Brigid landscape. The days are a bit cooler and wet and the nights are cooling off – perfect for a good night’s sleep so we can all SHINE during the day!
Terry Fox Run! Check out our school website for donations if you wish: http://www.terryfox.ca/StBrigidSchAyr
We have already raised $150! Way to go Celtics!
Students who are Ill: Please follow the directions on the Ontario Self-Screener when your child is ill. The screener will inform your next steps.
SchoolCash Online: Please log in and be sure to complete the start up forms! Included is also the agenda cost of $6.00. This will be open until next Friday. Thank you!
Spirit Days: Every Wednesday is Spirit Day and we wanted to make sure that every student has the opportunity to participate. Spirit wear is coming, as offered through our very own local School Tees company. Stay tuned for more information!
Athletics: The Waterloo Catholic District School Board and District 8 Athletic Association announced last week that the return of its interschool athletic programming will be effective September 20, 2021. Active participation in athletics has known health benefits, including physical fitness and mental wellness and provides social interaction which is necessary during a time of uncertainty for our students
In order to offer the safest possible option for a return to sport, all student-athletes (born 2009 and earlier) and teacher-coaches who wish to participate in interschool athletics must show proof of full immunization against COVID-19 (two doses plus 14-day waiting period) OR provide negative rapid antigen test results to their school twice per week. This protocol will take effect Monday, September 20th when practices and tryouts are able to resume. While we are hopeful to get our St. Brigid youth back to play and competition ~ but health and safety will always be our primary focus. The St. Brigid school teacher-coaches are working now to provide this opportunity. More information to come. You can read the full announcement at www.wcdsb.ca
