Congratulations to the Grade 6 students who competed in the Regional Skills Canada Competition at Conestoga College on February 28th. This Skills Canada challenge involved activities consistent with the strands of the Ontario Science and Technology curriculum. The students, working in teams of four, had an opportunity to compete with one another in a friendly environment to demonstrate their creative, collaborative and problem-solving skills in solving open-ended, critical-thinking challenges. Over 25 schools from the Waterloo Catholic Board participated. Team members competed in four categories; Lego Mechanics, Lego Robotics, Design & Technology and Coding. This year’s challenges focused on creating solutions to many social justice issues. Its was a great success! The Coding team placed Gold overall and Lego teams and Design & Technology teams placed silver overall. Way to go Celtics!!
