Good morning Celtics,

Over the next four weeks we will prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus.  To help us count down the four weeks of Advent, we use an Advent wreath.

The Advent wreath is a German custom, which Christians adopted, and the wreath is used to help us celebrate the coming of Christ, the light of the World.  The circle represents God’s unending love, just as a circle has no end and no beginning.   At St. Brigid we are showcasing two beautiful Advent wreaths on display for our students to pray.  One in our main foyer and one in our Celtic Crossing.

As we prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of Jesus, we remember that the evergreen leaves represent God’s everlasting love, which never dies.

On Monday, we will light candle for the first week of Advent; the candle we call HOPE:

We Hope

We Hope in Jesus,

We Hope that He will come again,

We Hope that we will one day join Him in Heaven.

Please consider donating to our Angel Tree at St. Brigid.  We are still collecting!  Thank you for your support.

Blessings to our Celtic families during the season of Advent!

School News:

Snow Reminders:

It is imperative for safety that students have a pair of inside shoes for safety. Now that the colder weather has arrived, the halls are often wet, and socks will become wet quickly. Also, it can get very cold in the yard during recess times with the open field.  Please be sure to have extra hats, mittens, and socks packed in your child’s backpack.  Students are outside for two 15 minute recess breaks and a 40-minute lunch recess.  This can feel very long if not properly dressed. Please check the weather before school to be prepared.

In the colder winter months, depending on the severity of the weather there are times that we shorten our time outside or do not go out at all.

  • When the temperature is between -20°C and -27°C students will not be outside longer than 15 minutes.
  • When temperatures are colder than -27°C, students remain inside

This year, the cancellation of buses does not automatically indicate that schools will be closed. The decision to close schools due to inclement weather is a separate decision from buses. Please be sure to monitor our newswire before school on days when winter conditions may indicate buses could be canceled or that schools are closed.
